Well, we did get a bit of a late start, but got to spend the morning fishing with Dad on Lake Juliette.
We caught a few dozen bream, whcih is is favorite kind of fishng. Not many were keepers, so we didn't keep any of them. However, had we been looking to catch striper bait and then head out striper fishing, we found the spot!
In his condition, Dad doesn't get much of a chance to fish any more, so he looks forward to these trips.
It's ironic the role reversals we have from so many years of him taking me fishing while growing up.
Back then, Dad pulled the boat and launched it. All I had to do was hold the rope. Then he would drive the boat and run the trolling motor while all I had to do was sit in the back and fish.
Roles are completly opposite now, but that's ok. Was a really enjoyable morning. Very little traffic on the lake, and a good time with Dad. And a few fish as well.

My Dad is only 55, so he's still in good shape. The only role reversal is me telling him he's slow all of the time and getting onto him for forgetting things.

I know exactly what you mean Boody...Unfortunately my dad passed away back in '06 at the tender age of 49. But I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be to turn back the clocks to the days when I just sat on the back and fished. Totally different ballgame now. I hate that my dad passed on before we could get older together and really establish more of a "friendly" relationship versus a father-son relationship. I was lucky to be able to spend A LOT of time with my pops in the woods or on the water, and for that I will be forever thankful!
It's great to see that you and your dad can still make these trips together, even if you are the one doing all the work now. I can only imagine how much he loves these trips with you, and that is one hell of a respectful thing for you to do
