Saw this on another site. It generated some good discussion. So, how is it effecting you?
Will it effect your hunting this year?

Well construction and development are both way down so obviously, being an architect, that is bad news for us.
My firm is only about 13 people now. We layed off 2 about 2 months ago and we all had to take paycuts. We do a lot of government projects, many of which are still being funded, its just that the competition is much stiffer for those jobs.
I do not see it affecting my hunting except for the fact that I would be joining a bird hunting club but with the slight decrease in my salary I think I'm going to hold off. That, coupled with the fact that the wife and I are trying to buy a house right now. I am very fortunate, however, to have a lot of family and friend land to deer hunt on, so I've never had to join a club.
Lastly, I'd really like a new Winchester Model 70 featherweight in 7-08 before deer season, but I might have to hold off on that purchase, as well.

I provide monthly bookkeeping, sales tax returns, payroll services, etc. to several small business. In 2008, I had 5 of those clients shut down their businesses, and have had 2 more close up in 2009 so far. This is a big chunk of my monthly income from May - December, so I'll be sweating it out trying to pick up new bookkeeping clients.
I've already gotten 3 new ones in 2009, but obviously still have some ground to make up.
I also have more +90 receivables than I've ever had, and just more receivables than ever before. I've gotten more clients asking if we can bartar their services for tax/bookkeeping services this year than I've ever had because they are in a cash crunch while trying to keep their business open.
I may be looking for a controller job by the end of the year if Uncle Obama don't change things!

I'm hanging on. People never stop tearing things up. It won't affect my hunting one way or the other. I'm fortunate enough to have my own land and even if ammo becomes unaffordable I reload and will continue to do so regardless of what assinine laws King Barry passes. For those of yall being hit hard by this, just hang in there and keep looking up.

I'm sure its cheaper than ammo will probably be in a year or two. Can you/will you reload .308s? I bow hunt quite a bit so all I really need is replaceable blades and a dozen arrows every couple of years. As far as land, we have my mom and dad's farm. I'm working on a few thing in SOWEGA. We shall see.... Red

I wouldn't either for that matter. Now if it was somebody that he or I didn't like, it might be a different story. Lol.

Dad went by a Gander Mtn. near Jacksonville yesterday to buy some pistol ammo. They had one box of .357 for $70.00!!! The guy behind the counter was putting up a sign restricting how many baxes you could buy at one time......they got 7 boxes of .380 in and sold all 7 before they touched a shelf. Too bad Remington and Winchester don't have stock symbols. Red
