I've been through he various stages of Bourbon, all except the ultra expensive single-barrel types.
I've drunk my share of Evan Williams. To quote HW, Jr, "I have loved Jim Beam." When I go out and I'm feeling kinda spry, I drink Wild Turkey 101. My standard at home is Maker's Mark.
Well, all of that has changed. I bought a 750 of Four Roses Yellow a few days ago and placed it in the freezer. Well, last night was definitely a good night for a drink so I poured myself a glass over a cube or two of ice and partook. Let me tell you, that is very possibly the best bourbon I've ever tasted. It's extremely smooth with a sweet, fruity start but a very long and spicy finish. It doesn't dry your throat out like a lot of bourbons do.
The best thing about it was that this bottle cost me $18. Its 80 proof, so its not as stout as a lot of other bourbons, which probably contributes to its vast drinkability. I highly recommend it to all of you gentlemen, and you coonasses, too.

yeah Knob and Benchmark are both very good, but I don't think its any better than this, and they cost a good bit more than this, too.
heck, I'll bring the bottle with me tomorrow to Boudreaux's if y'all don't think Paul would mind.

Hey Doc you ever had any Phillips Union? I like bourbon myself and I have to tell you that it is very, very good. If you've never had any you should give it a try.

Thanks for the heads up Doc. This is some smooth stuff. They had 3 different kinds of Four Roses though. I got the 19.99. Can't remember what the others were called but they were a good bit more expensive.
