Stacie's oldest son was in a fairly bad auto accident on Sunday. A friend was driving Cory's truck, clipped a BMW, spun out of control, went down an embankment, rolled several times, and at some point hit a telephone pole and a tree. Cory was also apparently ejected from the truck. He appears to be ok, with just some internal bruising. They are waiting for a room for him to be moved out of ICU. The driver of the truck is also ok, and no one in the BMW was hurt. www.gainesvilletimes.com/section/6/article/70693/

GAINESVILLE - Two people are in serious condition after wreck on Jesse Jewell Parkway Sunday afternoon.
According to Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell, the call came in around 3:45 p.m. Sunday of a 2 vehicle accident on Jesse Jewell Parkway, just east of Spring Street in the New Holland area.
Upon arrival, authorities found a 1999 Ford truck overturned down an embankment. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Peyton Jefferey Bazzell of Lula, was trapped inside the vehicle.
An air ambulance was called in to transport the other passenger in the truck, 23-year-old Brandon Cordell Chadwick of Gainesville; Bazzell was transported via ground ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Both were reported in serious condition.
Georgia State Patrol investigators stated the accident happened when Bazzell struck a 2004 BMW X5 being driven by 28-year-old Anthony Charles Cook of Lula in the rear. Bazzell lost control of his vehicle, crossing the median twice before leaving the road and hitting a tree down an embankment.
Bazzell has been charged with driving under the influence, serious injury by vehicle and following too closely.
No one in the BMW was injured.

My boy is 13. It scares the bujeezuz out of me thinking about him driving one day. I'm pretty confident in D-man (he's 13). It's the other crazy arse teenagers on the road I'm concerned about. You know, the ones that think they'll live forever.

Wow! Just saw this. I hope he is on the mend Stacie and there is nothing permanent. I'm right there with you brother. Here's what my son did when he was 16. He walked away from it without a scratch. Scared the Hell out of us.

I walked away from two that I shouldn't have. I'm here today because of a seat belt and God's grace. The bigger the better in my opinion.
