Old south is having their spring hunt test in Covington this weekend. Y'all come out and make a day of it. There is a cookout at the end of the day Sat. They will raffle off a shotgun or two as well as some other cool stuff. If you have never been to one it's worth it just for the experiance. My dog is running in seasoned both days.

Did you train him yourself or send him out for training?

Well, maybe you can still teach Dewey a few things.

Like first how not to insult his owner by retrieving the empties from his misses instead of ducks? That's still one of the funniest things I've seen in a duck blind. ;D

He's still a pup. He doesn't have alot of blind experience. He's been twice. We took him to Arkansas and just about ruined him. He's still alittle nervous around the gun, but he will be fine. Took him on a pheasant hunt last month and he picked up about 40 birds, and that helped a lot! Those hunt test are just a man made make believe hunt. There is nothing like the real thing. One thing he is very good at is running blinds. He's running blinds consistently at 200 yards. He is also very steady. All in all he just needs experience in a real hunting scenario. No matter how many titles he earns he's still a rookie in the blind. I think he will be just fine though!

I know three guys, at least, that can give him that! That's what I'm talking about! Unless you want your dog to have a WTF!!!! look on his face all morning you better ask to see the list of three names before they just show up. If not you'll know full well why Dewey retrieves hulls. ;D Red
