As we are closing out hunting season, what have you though about for the fall?
Will you go back on some trips you took this year?
Planning a different trip?
Looking to join a lease so you can hunt on your on terms?
Looking to plant an area to try for better results?
Looking to knock on some doors to try to gain access?
I'm already thinking about a few LA trips next year, but certainly not in the same blind. May a combo MS catfish pond/LA flooded timber & pit blind hunt.
I'm also going to reach out to some property owners to maintain access that I had this year and try to get more access.
I'm considering changing deer leases, so I'll have some property to look over.
Gonna try to hunt a lake in AL a few times.
Also gonna see if I can get Harris shooting a .22 or a 410 in the summer or fall.
Plan to dump some corn here soon on one or two properties to try to "imprint" the birds on that land so they'll be there for the fall. I also have a feeder ready for set up and fill with bird seed to grain them to come in on a routine basis.
And if I can find someone to take me, I'll try to kill my first turkey after April 15.

Just hope to be solvent this time next year.
If I can work it out, I will continue to go on my Nebraska trip
I will try to got to LA and MS with you and your crazy arse friends again. The fellowship was truthfully better than the hunting, probably so even if we had killed 500 ducks

This was a season to remember for a lot of reasons. If I could repeat it, I'd be happy. Having two babies might hamper some traveling, but I plan on heading OOS twice. Some of my local spots should be better than this year too...I'm sure banded woodie and I will be working on them throughout the year.
I would like to start applying for swan tags. That would take me back to close to my old stomping grounds and I'd love to watch that big ole sucker splash!!!.

I wonder if swans make as big of a splash as pelicans.

I wonder if swans make as big of a splash as pelicans. Only the group that went to LA in Dec would know....I know Thunter was claiming some of Homeaux's birds, so ask him! Red

I let him claim his pelican---didn't have room for it in my house.

How funny would it be to have a giant pelican mounted on the wall and invite Phil L over for dinner?

Pelicans are a true trophy. Definitely not something you see every day hanging on someone's wall.
