I have secured 60.5 acres in Elbert County that I'll begin hunting this turkey season, if I can find the time! Going to start getting stands and blinds out, and have an road cut to the back of the property, as well as an area cleared to but the 12x20 bunk house. Not a big piece of property, but plenty for me and Lil Boudreaux and 1 or 2 others.
I feel better being on a smaller property and knowing who is where not that Lil Boudreaux is wanting to start hunting. Property has a deep ravine with a flowing creek on it, and backs up to Corp property on the back, which should make it hunt larger than it actually is. A finger of the lake comes up behind it, so hoping to find some backwater and swamp areas that might hold ducks.
Has a power line cutting through it on one end, which may be a place for a food plot. Guess I'm going to be looking for a tractor or a plowmaster to pull behind the 4 wheeler! Looking forward to getting Lil Bou down there to start helping me work the land.
And it's just a few minutes from the lake house, so Dawn doesn't have to stay in the bunk house if she wants to go down with us. And it's just a little drive to Emu's 200 acres, so if he's got hogs again, we can go there to shoot 'em!
